Kay's Story

My father was in St Paul hospital in Dallas Texas. He was just moved to a room from ICU and my Mother and I were going to stay with him that night.   He was doing ok and then suddenly took a turn for the worse. In fact, he was dying. The nurses and doctors that came in to resuscitate him shewed us out of the room in our socks and sweat suits we had on for the night.   No pockets and no change to call home to report this to our family. We were very upset at what was taking place behind the door we had just left and walked down to the lobby area that was near to wait... I ask Mother if she had any coins at all and she said no. There was no one around,   not even a nurse or visitor, being so late at night.   I turned after a few minutes to   comfort my mother and there was this woman standing behind her.   She had come from no where.... there were no doors or openings from where we were to my father's room.....and tile floors not permitting anyone's approach without us hearing. She said 'Is there anything I can do to help you?"   Mom said no and I stepped closer to them and said "Do you have any coins.? You see they just made us leave my father's room without anything ,   it seems he is taken a turn for the worse."   She opened her bag and took out a gold looking coin purse that was full of coins, opened it and told me to take all I needed. I took 2 quarters and turned to use the pay phone and heard my mom say something and turned to see my mom standing there facing me and no one else in the room, hall or anywhere near.   My mother said " What?"   I said " where is the lady?"   She said "Here" as she was turning and she saw the lady was gone.   I ask where she had gone and my mom just looked at me..   We both knew she did not have time to get passed our line of sight. We made the calls and didn't really talk about it again until sometime later.   My mom says she was an angel.. Being a very religious woman, I expect a lot from her but not that.   My mom is not given to such thoughts.   Normally she dismisses such flights of fancy.   But this,   "encounter" she has never wavered on her thoughts on the subject.   It causes me to wonder sometimes, about who this woman was.   I, being by nature, a more suspicious person, find this really hard to understand. Any thoughts on this matter will be taken to heart and appreciated. Kay
